Not a “gym person”?

Good. Neither were most of our members.

  • You’ve never lifted a weight

Start with Foundations. We teach you everything, from how to hold the bar.

  • You used to train, years ago

We’ll find your starting point and build back up, without the next-day wreckage.

  • You’re 40, 50, 60 or beyond

Strength matters more with every birthday. Plenty of our members started after 50.

  • You’re training around an injury

Coaches swap and scale movements so you can train what you can, safely.

  • You’re bored training alone

Same faces, same time, a coach who knows your name. It’s easier to show up.

What actually happens

One hour, minute by minute.

The thing most people want to know before their first class. Here’s a Strength class, start to finish.

  1. 0–10 min

    Welcome and warm-up

Names first. Then easy movement to get warm, with the coach explaining today’s plan on the whiteboard.

  2. 10–20 min

    Skill

Practice the day’s main lift with an empty bar or light weight. The coach checks everyone’s form.

  3. 20–40 min

    Strength

Sets of the main lift at a weight that suits you. Plenty of rest, and a coach helping you choose.

  4. 40–52 min

    Finisher

A short burst of work with kettlebells, rowers or bodyweight, scaled to you.

  5. 52–60 min

    Cool-down

Stretch, breathe, and write down what you lifted so next time you know where you started.

Before you come

First-timer questions

I’m really out of shape. Is this for me?

Yes. Most of our members started out unfit, stiff, or nervous about gyms. Every movement has an easier version, and the coach picks a starting point that suits you. Nobody is watching what you lift.

What happens at my free class?

Arrive ten minutes early. A coach shows you around, goes through a short waiver and health questionnaire, and stays close during the class. Afterwards you can ask anything. There’s no sales pitch.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes, flat trainers, and a water bottle. We have towels, chalk and all the equipment.

Do I have to start with Foundations?

If you’ve never lifted weights, we recommend it. If you have, you can go straight into classes; the coach will check your technique at your free class.

I have an injury. Can I still come?

Usually, yes. Tell the coach when you arrive and we’ll work around it. For anything serious or recent, check with your doctor or physical therapist first.

Is there a contract?

No. Memberships are month to month, and you can pause or cancel with notice.
